channelpocalypse two is cool, and I think a lot of innovations will emerge from it to help create new and better monetization models on here.

well you go smaller, down to a more community level, so engagement becomes more intimate in a sense, and higher trust. 

thus it is less about trying to create 'viral' network content (memes, etc.) and more about trying to create content that increases the value in that specific channel/community. 

so I believe Degen for example, can greatly incentivize this activity if done properly in certain communities. in turn, it could make joining the community exponentially more valuable over time, and create that upward cycle for both.
