Understanding an arbitrage opportunity.

@skillabsc asked why the team is buying back the Hunt Buildings offered on OpenSea. The answer is, because they don't need and should not. It is a arbitrage opportunity for the market.

TL;DR : Actually I've bought it off the market.

So let's have a look at the conditions. The Building NFT has been offered for 0.0768 ETH, which converted into 224.4 USD at that moment. Even including the Gas fee for withdrawal to get ETH into my wallet, it would be a price difference of 60.7 USD compared to getting the NFT directly as a fresh Mint. 

So now the arbitrage. (Which I've not completed, because I wanted to keep it)

The OpenSea NFT has a lockup until Jan. 2025 compared to a lockup of Nov. 2025 if freshly minted. As an owner of a few Hunt Town Buildings already, I have also some which can be burned directly to get HUNT back. I could burn one HUNT Building NFT into HUNT to pocket the arbitrage of 60.7USD (minus gas fee). Boom! Winner! 😀

I think this really is important for people in the Hunt Town community to understand...  I tend to be a 'hold for years' guy, but there could definitely be opportunities for people willing to put in a bit of effort, capital and have a good amount of luck.
