I saw a comment once that said most of the people who would’ve catalogued every beetle in their tricounty area if they were born in 1833 are instead today making YouTube videos about how to find every ring in the hidden sublevels of Sonic Superstars and I haven’t stopped thinking about it since

And then... just as today, I'm sure they had their detractors who said that "while admirable in creativity and certainly influential, I still feel the beetles are overrated. Personally when it comes to collecting, I prefer the stones."
