passkey wallets don't solve the seed phrase problem

they just rename concepts. Now Apple, 1Password, etc is backing up your "seed phrase"

fundamentally the only people who have eliminated seed phrases are the zk folks who built wallets that can operate on zkp's of other identities

totally -- global embedded scw + something like zkemail is my dream product rn

passkey wallets don't completely solve the seed phrase problem

but they are a driving force towards the adoption of account abstracted smart wallets that can have arbitrary recovery schemes programmed into them (including zkemail, etc)

seed phrase problem -"do i have to custody a piece of information that I absolutely can't forget or lose"

- seed phrases
- user-held mpc shares
- your passkey root

if you can find convenient ways to delegate out that storage, that's cool-- but the same solutions apply across all of those

re: single point of failure -- SCW's with multiple signers is interesting, but you have the same recursive problem. 

Ok, I lost a key. I grab another one. I lost that one 💀 You're still "custodying" some seed phrase, passkey, or other material to enable interacting with these wallets

ZK tries to solve this

What do you define as the seed phrase problem? in my mind, the "problem" was:
1. A phrase that you have to back up, manually save etc
2. A single point of failure if you lose it

Passkeys address 1 with built in passkey managers, and address 2 to some extent with automatic syncing across devices etc.
