You must have heard the term "MCP" floating around these days.
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is like giving your AI hands to work with the things around it.
It is an open standard created by Anthropic.
How does MCP work?
Normally, AI is limited to what it’s been trained on, which can feel like it’s stuck in a bubble.
MCP gives AI a way to interact with things like your files, apps, or the web.
How Does MCP Work?
MCP is built around a client-server system:
1. MCP Hosts:
These are the AI tools you’re using, like a chatbot or a coding program (like Claude or Cursor).
2. MCP Servers:
These are lightweight programs that connect the AI to specific tools or data (like your email, a database, or an app like Figma).
The host sends requests to the servers using natural language, and the servers handle the job of fetching information or performing actions.
For example, you could say, “Show me my latest emails,” and MCP would link your AI assistant to an email server to make it happen. 0 reply
