Today, this might not make much sense yet, as many of the L2s are just cheaper versions of Ethereum. Their "speciality" is cheaper blockspace for arbitrary compute.

Soon though, in order to compete, with each other and monoliths, new networks will need to find their niche, their speciality, and in order to compete modify their baselayer to be more efficient.

At SEDA weβre building a hyperspecialized data transport layer. A message passing window, accessible to any networks from both sides of the window. This way SEDA positions itself to become the defacto data transportation standard within this next wave of hyperspecialization.
