Can the MMF be a template to tokenize other trad assets? Ondo also pushes their MMF and I always wonder why this particular asset?

Agreed. To me the holy grail should be to replace Tbills as the "safe" default in RWAs, novel quality asset classes that provide equal if not greater returns while maintaining similar risk profiles to be new defi pegs
