I don't like speculation or meme coins. But there is a nonzero chance that meme coins are cannibalizing casinos. If so, then this can be a temporary activity that serves as a free testing team for protocols growing to meet institutional needs. It's a silver lining.

I agree. To avoid a dotcom style implosion like 2021/22, we need utility to increase way more. Farcaster is only the first start. We also need social networks to start attracting content creators to produce content and getting rewarded by users. That's just one core feature of being built on Blockchain.

The most exciting thing is IP. Pudgy is a start. But think Disney and Marvel. Think about a new generation growing up with Mochimon cartoons that mean something - Pokemon, Doraemon, Beyblade. Animes like Naruto and One Piece too.

You can track Perps, ETH staking, USDC, Base TVL, etc. in part thanks to Coinbase's transparency and in other part thanks to the hardwork of everyday crypto builders who pulled together valuable dashboards.

12 years ago when I first invested in $META, I marvelled at how I could track growth in advertising spend and CPMs before every earnings - by using Kendago's quarterly report as an accurate proxy. 12 years later, I marvel at the opportunity to do the same again for a different company: Coinbase $COIN.
