For Real World Assets (e.g. Real Estate) to come on-chain (e.g. as NFTs), there needs to be a way of linking the physical to the digital object in a trustless way. This seems impossible. Who is tackling this and what are the solutions?

This concept has never made sense to me and I’m skeptical that real world assets on chain will ever happen in a meaningful way. Blockchains can’t enforce property rights in the real world, only the legal and criminal systems can.

Just because they are reliant on courts doesn’t mean there is no value in putting RWA on open financial rails They’re still a massive improvement over the legacy system, stripping out costs while accessing more liquidity https://www.notboring.co/p/everything-is-broken

Agreed there is some value, but is there enough? Financial and regulatory systems have a lot of inertia so to replace them things have to be a LOT more useful. Maybe in an era of free money and ZIRP low-value things get created, but in the upcoming era of relative austerity?
