How does this explain the tariffs though?

He says that canada gives the usa a discount to refine heavy crude oil because canada cannot process it. Even if we assume everything he says is true, why do tariffs make sense?

If we assume this is all true then it seems that Canada doesnt have another buyer and it’s costly for them to transport.

Tariffs would further lower the price that Canada sells the U.S. oil bc U.S. has all the leverage in this situation

There's a reason the tariff is only 10% on energy, you guys are still going to be buying it. Why would we lower prices if you're still purchasing it? lol
