When I was a kid my father used to tell my brother and me a story of a little elephant in a zoo who wanted to return to Africa. My father made up the story on the spot. At the time my father worked on the farm where we lived and often he was so tired in the evening that he fell asleep before us and even drifted into dreams while telling the story. 

I recently remembered this and started to tell the story of the little elephant to my younger son and he really likes it.
