The main goal of PIVX is to provide private and anonymous transactions together with decentralized management. The project uses a Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus model, which makes it more energy efficient compared to blockchains that use the Proof-of-Work (PoW) model. User data is protected using SHIELD — a custom anonymity protocol based on zk-SNARKs Sapling and integrated into Proof of Stake. The project is also distinguished by a self-financing system, in which part of the block reward is allocated to the development of the project.
