I once took a solo trip to Croatia, maneuvering by car, bus, kayak, and boat nearly the entire length of the country from Dubrovnik to the capital Zagreb. There’s something so liberating about being a woman traveling by yourself in a foreign country, and Croatia is a spectacular place to do it. Plus, I’m an absolute sucker for waterfalls, and with Plitvice Lakes being a top tier bucket list destination for me, I didn’t want to be bogged down by any travel partners who weren’t on board with the extreme level of waterfall chasing I was in for. 😝 I can’t recommend this place enough if waterfalls are your jam. And if you’re able to swing it, I highly advise springing for the one hotel located inside the park. There’s nothing glamorous about it, but you will have private access to the park both before and after the crowds leave. imho you can’t put a price tag on that. Check out the comments below for more pics and hmu if you need any advice for adventuring in Plitvice!

These boardwalks are narrow and rickety and can get pretty damn crowded during busy months. I shot the pic on the left before crowds arrived and the one on the right after the park opened to the public. This wasn't even anywhere near as busy as it gets either.
