One week in and having trouble coming to terms with how much of an adjustment it has been going from one kid to two. My wife and I always swore we wouldn’t let having kids stop us from enjoying our favorite pastimes (like recreational sports, hiking, camping, etc) and tbh we’ve lived up to that pretty well since having our first. But the toddler plus a newborn is just a lot, I find myself wondering how people have more than 2 (or how single parents survive at all.) Tried going to a soccer game yesterday and it was so hard on my wife with me just being gone for 2 hours that I’ve opted out the rest of the season for my other soccer and volleyball teams. I know we’ll get into a flow state eventually and of course it’s all 100% worth it, but I really underestimated the adjustment for sure! (Obvious caveat that I love both my boys and wouldn’t change anything for the world. )

i have no doubt you’ll get into the groove in no time. and you’ll get to make your favorite pastimes their favorite pastimes too. some of my greatest memories are of my dad taking me & my siblings hiking, camping, traveling. just a little patience & fortitude in the interim. you got this 🧑🧑🧒🧒

Thank you Jacy. Similarly some of my favorite memories are camping and car trips with my family. We’ll definitely force them to partake when we get into the flow of things 💛
