i actually think both are rare and part of good execution is knowing which ideas to share or not.

Fair point but I think people are often too precious with their ideas 

Especially when other perspectives and feedback often make an idea stronger

Later on you underrate (or forget) how non-obvious the strategy/insights are to the rest of the world (including competition) because they seem so obvious and simple to you.

Definitely a balance.  

Curious why you think people aren't precious enough later on?  Is it because it hurts GTM and making a splash?  Or something else?
