crypto underestimates the cognitive overload and monetization fatigue that comes with turning everything into a coin or a market the more financial decisions a user must actively make -> the higher the cognitive burden -> the lower the engagement, satisfaction, and trust this is well researched across digital apps

This is yet another reason why I tell people a Farcaster token might not be a great idea.

as i wrote yesterday, there are plenty of apps with pseudocurrencies that have an at-scale, loyal userbase. the tokens themselves aren't the issue.

Farcaster has a significant amount of work to do before it can launch a token. Like, let's start with a node shouldn't cost $100\mo to run It should pay out at least .1c/mo But what do I know about sustainable decentralized projects. Soon I am going to copy paste this whole stupid thing except make it so the node runners are paid and not paying, And then what I ask you ?

just ran into this, clicked on the 'create a channel', immediately closed it when I saw 2500. For reducing cognitive overload if i could get a cost break down of where its going it would be easier. Clicking it would be alot easier if I knew it was just gas cost or something, and no one was taking a profit
