I enjoyed a few lovely days in London for the first time in years (in admittedly perfect weather)

The parks + infrastructure make for a sprawling, active, stunningly beautiful place

It’s pretty devastating to compare and imagine what /los-angeles could be with even a fraction of London’s green spaces and transit.

obviously, the weather is a massive gap (see image, I left today, lol). 

But the amount, size, and beauty of the parks is mind-blowing, even compared to NYC.

LA gets much less rain, but also feels like we said: we’re good, we have the beach (and parking lots).

I really hope that LA can, at least on the transit front, make some real progress here thanks to the 2028 Olympics. 

Spending time in London made me realize that the two cities are actually somewhat similar in size and density but make for dramatically different experiences because of London public infras and parks.

and then there’s transit, which is just ridiculous. In London, tube, bus and bike are all great options to get around (cycling my favorite, due to a mix of great weather, lime bikes, and roads and culture that actually accounts for bikes).

Cars come dead last after all 3 of those. And still— FOUR great options!
