Business-wise, basically every smash hit book, movie, band probably had at least dozens of people pass on it (Harry Potter, Star Wars, The Beatles ... ouch). Blockbuster decline to buy Netflix for $50 million. Many such cases. Culturally, Library of Alexandria destruction and Qin Dynasty book burning missed ops for us
