gmgm Purple! Wanted to share /checkin for the latest #retropgf in /purple Since launching at Farcon in May, we've had over 110K checkins and 4500+ registered Farcaster users from all over the globe. Checkin is a location-based social app built on top of the Farcaster social graph. Users can explore, checkin and earn rewards for discovering the world around them. We're bridging IRL activities/attestations to onchain identity. Being a location-based social app, we’ve encouraged people to be more social and touch grass together with IRL events at conferences. Supporting touching grass at conference, we've held 2 IRL events: - At ETHCC @humpty.eth hosted a Checkin Challenge tour where a dozen ETHCC attendees decided to make new friends and explore new surroundings using Checkin - At DAO/ETH Tokyo, we partnered with /poap to create “POAP Rally Tokyo” where users checkin to shrines across Tokyo to earn cool POAPs and a chance to win one of 3 darumas designed by artist @furpuff. To further encourage more IRL social experience we organized 2 walking tours of Tokyo where 20+ people signed up to touch grass and our collective spirits

Extending on the checkin concept, we also launched Places NFTs (NFTs of IRL places that people check into) where 18,000+ Places were airdropped or minted on @base to over 8000 owners.
