I worked in commercial design/advertising world for 10 years and started a few failed ventures of my own

it's just reps like everything else imo - instinct improves with savage amounts of failure

one expansion I'd offer is that there's a huge misconception that art and marketing are two different things/exercises 

art is communication

Makes sense, I suppose getting used to failure and not worrying so much about it / allowing it to hold you back is the opposite of progression. 

I have perpetual fear in this area so guess it’s all about letting go.
