1/4 Exciting to see the $DEGEN community and Farcaster discussing moderation. While some worry about adding moderation, it’s actually a chance to build a unique, unbiased system unlike any other social platform. Open data is Farcaster’s strength, but we need to ensure algorithms are also transparent and neutral.

2/4 In an election year, having the power to choose your feed’s algorithm and understand what content is filtered is crucial. Kudos to Wildcard.lol for being the first to offer this choice, like using the $DEGEN feed. It’s about transparency and letting us decide what we see!

3/4 Some might see moderation as limiting, but it’s actually empowering if done right. Open data without fair moderation is like putting a Ferrari engine in a 98 Corolla—it’s all about how we use that potential. We can have both open data and fair, open moderation.

As someone who spotted a couple tipping rings that had 90k+ degen allowance PER DAY last season at one point I'm 100% for moderation. I don't think most people know how bad it actually was, and having it 100% be on you guys to find it all and shut it down wasn't sustainable

Disagree You won't even get good feedback as everyone is afraid of being struck off by mods with different opinions. You're analogy is great cause you snapped the driveshaft by mismatching parts. We want scammers marked and decide ourselves.
