one feeling i’ve gotten used to over the years is people who as early AF to a market thinking i am late yah, i buy higher, but with much less risk i also tend to hold much, much longer than they do

If you buy later you don't really buy higher, you buy something more valuable. Buying early is not necessarily more risky though but it requires more diligence. At the end, it's a matter of knowing what we are buying, timing ain't key, pricing is. The above isn't yet my pov, curious to know what's your take on it
