Great write up. Also I’d not heard of Flair yet, it looks good! 

One question, how to hook into events to push real-time updates to currently connected clients via websockets? Ie trigger an external webhook on certain events.

That's definitely possible, as it's a Javascript env, but I'd recommend more reliable DB sync infra (we have Postgre/Mogno/Dynamodb) so that nothing is missed and retries/retractions are handled automatically.
