⚡️Historic Moment: Germany’s Corporate Giants Acknowledge Past Ties to Nazi Regime
In a powerful open letter, CEOs of 49 major German companies — including Adidas, Hugo Boss, BMW, Volkswagen, Deutsche Bank, and Lufthansa — publicly acknowledged corporate responsibility in enabling the Nazi regime’s rise in the 1930s.
“The rise of National Socialism in 1933 wouldn’t have been possible without failures across politics, the military, judiciary, and economy. German companies helped strengthen the regime. In pursuit of profit, many became complicit. Today, we take responsibility for preserving the memory of Nazi crimes and stand united against hate, discrimination, and antisemitism,” the letter states.
During the Nazi dictatorship, many firms openly cooperated with the regime, profiting from forced labor and military contracts. Some executives were later tried for war crimes. 2 replies
