a wise old man once said, “show me the incentive, and i’ll show you the outcome” crypto is inherently financial. it attracts financial minds first. financial minds live and die by incentives. if you incentivize farmers, you’re gonna get farmers. if you incentivize for qDAU, you’re gonna get qDAU. crypto users are not too different than locusts. without proper incentives, your product will get exploited; all value will be extracted until there’s nothing left and your user base will churn. incentivize users to be additive to your system, or unleash the locust swarm.

Recent example is AF. Remove the incentive = remove the users.

indeed. i think the takeaways there are: 1) incentive design must be added to your system before launch 2) after launch, you're entire strategy should be focused on optimizing around the top 50 most successful channels/qDAU (powerusers) 3) after listening, optimizing, and retaining your top 50 users, the focus should shift wholeheartedly to discoverability, ie. creating a system that allows qDAU not in the top 50 to rise/grow

don’t think these apply to alfafrens but think they’re pretty good maxims for social platforms in general
