only one i can think of as well. did doge ever do anything “good” tho or was it always just a tool for Elon & Cuban?

Doge had a rich history of decentralized community action and charitable works done by the community long before Elon got involved in 2021

the coin doesn't survive if there was a core group of believers from 2014 - 2021 keeping it alive be doing fun things in the name of Doge:

i remember a little of that. curious why we don’t see more “memes as awareness.” the idea feels very 2020 coded in a way but it does feel like low hanging fruit. could easily see the “don’t kill yourself” meme tokenizing, skyrocketing, and raising a bunch of awareness for depression.

i suppose that it’s because there isn’t much “get rick quick” community crossover in the “awareness, public goods & altruism” camp, which makes sense. feels like it could be easily exploitable given the emotional context. 

perhaps the move is to be somewhere in between, like higher is doing—something more like a brand rather than just a singular  awareness purpose
