In 2010, a guy named Laszlo Hanyecz wanted to prove Bitcoin could be used for real purchases. So, he offered 10,000 Bitcoins (worth about $40 at the time) to anyone who could get him two pizzas. Someone took the deal, ordered two pizzas from Papa John’s, and got paid the Bitcoin.
Fast forward to today, those 10,000 Bitcoins would be worth hundreds of millions of dollars!
Laszlo is now a legend in crypto, and every year, the community celebrates Bitcoin Pizza Day to remember how far crypto has come. But still, that's probably the most expensive pizza in history.
