Your Name (Kimi no Na wa) follows Mitsuha Miyamizu, a high school girl in the rural town of Itomori, who wishes to be a Tokyo boy in her next life. She mysteriously begins to switch bodies with Taki Tachibana, a boy in Tokyo. They communicate through messages and help each other navigate their daily lives.
As they grow closer, Taki learns about a comet, Tiamat, that struck Itomori three years earlier, killing many, including Mitsuha. Realizing they are separated by time, Taki races to save Mitsuha and her town during the festival, hoping to change their fates.
But Mitsuha starts to forget Taki.
