MicroStrategy announced BTC DID "orange"! I think they are utilizing inscriptions and Ordinals, but from Saylor's perspective, it's acceptable to use them for DID, which is pretty cool. I wonder how they plan to use them? https://youtube.com/watch?v=lwqLXaYoavE

Yes building on Ordinal theory. But simply inscribing a hash as proof of identity, that’s generated through the Orange system - by corps and hr employees. Feels a bit like when people found out about blockchain use-cases. They displayed it with Outlook as example btw!

Yeah, I again watched youtube after I saw your comment. Interesting solution on Outlook! I understand that by using Inscriptions with BTC Ordinals, they want to provide a truly decentralized and global ID solution, which is different from IPFS.

The use case for preventing impersonation is interesting, but existing solutions already have countermeasures in place, so companies may not use it unless the UI/UX is exceptionally superior or it aligns with their philosophy.

However, I believe MicroStrategy's greatest strength is that they can use it within their own company first. They can infinitely dogfood and refine the solution.

Yeah they have a nice testing garden so to say. I’m not so bullish on solutions that require centralized key generating (as in the example). Like we should be able to have our proof of identity (like ENS, and then a proof of humanness), inscribable on Bitcoin or smtn.
