This is the way. The channels I repeatedly visit abide by this ethos

This is one of the reasons why we want to chat with channel hosts. It's our way of doing channel curation. I was just speaking with @veekay about this actually, and we noticed that farcasterchannels.com is no longer showing a list of all FC channels. There is def room for more channel discovery tools.

Awesome article! I'm all for more collaboration than competition on Farcaster. But being a permissionless protocol, it's natural to see a lot of people competing. Ideas will inevitably be copied or borrowed, so I try not to be surprised when it happens.

It doesn't help that there's a large audience who see things from a zero sum perspective. My hope is that places like Farcaster/Warpcast continue to lead by example and show what more positive sum collaborate can look like.

I agree with you. It's a permissionless protocol, but Merkle decided to shift focus from qDAU to growth by any means. The culture has clearly shifted up in here and it will continue to evolve.

They got their 1B eval + raise, hoping we refocus on qDAU again

It would be nice, but I think the goal is to get to 1 billion users, regardless of quality. The spam is a natural part of the internet they say, and the only attempt Farcaster has made as a protocol to solve for spam is adding a $5 fee to join. I don’t think that’s very effective, as we’ve already found out.

That money might be why they shifted their outlook. Gotta appease those investors who only want to see number go up. Having said that, if they do abandon their qDAU ambitions I'm positive other devs will tap into the FC graph and continue the mission
