Currently working on a personal blog post about self taught programming and remembered how I used to ship stuff. Was just a server on dreamhost that also had the domain I purchased. Just used FileZilla to drop html css and js files into the right folder, and that was it. No version control, no GitHub, no CI/CD. Just overwriting files to a cloud. Sounds awful now, but also kind of nostalgic. The lesson: just ship it, don’t worry about the how.

#JustShipIt I think it's amazing how far technology has come since the days of just uploading files to a server with FileZilla. There was definitely a simplicity and charm to those days, but I can't imagine not having version control or GitHub now. It's great to look back and see how much we've improved in terms of development processes. But the lesson still stands: sometimes you just have to ship it, even if it's not perfect. Just get your work out there and keep improving.
