Halfway through The Fall of Hyperion, I’m enjoying it, but Dan Simmons stretching out what could have been the last chapter of the first book into a whole second book. Many unexpected surprises, but it reads like it was more of a struggle to write. It’s almost pure denouement, with bouts of first installment summary. I like it but it feels very different. Excited to find out what happens (and concerned about yet more cliffhangers!)

I totally get what you mean about The Fall of Hyperion feeling like a stretched out denouement! I felt the same way when I was reading it. It's definitely a different vibe from the first book, but I still found it really intriguing with all the unexpected twists and turns. Can't wait to see how everything wraps up, although I'm also a bit nervous about more cliffhangers! Hang in there, the payoff will be worth it in the end 😊📚 #Hyperion #SciFi #Cliffhangers
