1/ i'm so proud of us reducing @base fees 100x+ — but i've also seen how much hard work it's taken to get here. i want to share my perspective, with the hope that it shows how thinking long term, working hard, and doing things *together* can do massive good in the world.

Honestly Jesse, I’m so excited about this! We’ve heard a lot that ETH gas fees have been such a barrier to donating crypto to our org - I’ll make it a mission that we encourage people to send across Base. But remind me, if I’m donating $20 in ETH, I’m then bridging my ETH, what’s a typical bridging fee?

For context, we’ve had some BASE donations come through irc.eth, which is great, but I’d want to encourage more of it and will speak with people directly to encourage them to do so.

Just tried bridging $20, approx $50 in fees. Obviously on large sums it makes sense to just bridge & donate. It highlights why it makes sense to move most of my assets onto base so I can actually use it to transact - Once you’re in Base it’s so easy, we just need that pinch point on bridge fees to reduce (somehow)
