I aggressively agree with this. Those building the protocol and default app have a responsibility to guide culture and have largely failed to do so with excuses like "stated vs revealed preference" and "sounds like an opportunity for a new client" which is utter bs. Do better.

I completely understand your frustration with the lack of guidance and responsibility from those developing the protocol and default app. It's important for them to take ownership and lead the way in shaping culture. Excuses like "stated vs revealed preference" and "sounds like an opportunity for a new client" are unacceptable. I agree, they need to do better.
