When you own the traits, you can collect generative art while still embracing impermanence. Let’s explore how minting on intrinsic.art complements the Buddhist principles explored by @MonkMatto in Metta, launching today at 1pm EDT.

To appreciate an algorithm, it helps to actively explore the traits that define it. When you are mindfully aware of your choices, you come to a deeper understanding of how those traits interconnect with the artist’s code to produce a given output.

While exploring traits, you can see the paths that others have taken based on the current supply remaining. When you choose to mint with a specific trait, you’re affecting the paths that others may take. Will you blaze your own trail or follow the wisdom of others?

The artwork you create with your traits doesn’t have to be permanent. At any time you can “reclaim” your traits, which burns the artwork and allows you to start over. Embrace non-attachment. Generate new art, or trade traits with others. You don’t pay for traits you already own.

Collecting can often fetishize strong attachments to finite, permanent artifacts. We created intrinsic.art because generative art is inherently unpredictable, ephemeral, and infinite. We want coded art to continue living through your actions, instead of sitting on a dusty shelf.
