A client has a one-way dependency on Merkle. The only growth option for a client is to acquire new users. Building in crypto is hard enough, no need for the dependency.

Interesting feedback on building on top of FC.

It’s hard to fault their logic - having a massive dependency on and early stage startup is essentially taking a double bet, especially for building a full client.

Remains to be seen if niche clients like Buoy and Crew can be profitable.
