This week I built hope.

Every day, I push myself to keep going, to believe that I’ll survive this forced immigration and find my way back home to my dog Vanya. 

He’s an old dog, and every morning I thank him for waiting for me, for still being there, even when I can’t be. Every night, I pray that he’ll hold on—that he’ll wait until this war is over and we can be together again.

This week I built HOPE.

I had a dog friend that looked like this. I say friend because I didn’t own this dog he was someone else’s. 
He would meet me at the bus stop when I was little and walk me home.
Eventually the owner came to talk to me said he didn’t know why but his dog had a bond with me. I was 6-7. I believe he was a spirit guide, a protector. 
I hope your Vanya is staying strong for you.
