My general career advice for people in their 20s

- Figure out what you want to be when you grow up

- If that's too hard, figure out where you want to be in 5 years

- Work backwards from there, what's the best next move that gets you closer to that goal

- Optimize for 1 thing at a time; optimizing for multiple things usually leads to worse near-term decisions

- Avoid side quests rationalizing the optionality or ability to return the main quest later

My general career advice for people in their 20s. Do what you love. The world needs more passion. The rest will work itself out. Warning you might find yourself in your mid 40's still working out what you want to do when you grow up.

I hope I am moving in the right direction. thank you for these words. sometimes it seems that if you haven't made a career in your activity by the age of 40 you will never do it again, but it is hard to give it up and change it for another one
