Elixir announces the launch of $deUSD, a fully collateralized stablecoin.
- Collateralized with $stETH. Collateral is managed based on a delta neutral strategy like Ethena.
- Initially, only ETH will be supported as collateral, with other delta neutral assets to follow.
Elixir has several benefits over Ethena's $USDe
- Decentralized = “decentralized”, “non-custodial” on-chain liquidity management, unlike Ethena, which is run by a centralized custodian
- Reduces funding exposure in a negative funding environment
- deUSD will be the preferred and supported collateral asset within the Elixir ecosystem (e.g., Synfutures, Injejctive, Hyperliquid, etc. partnerships )
Staking $deUSD to earn protocol profits
- The staked $deUSD will then be utilized to fill on-chain liquidity => higher APRs can be offered (e.g. ETH/deUSD) 0 reply
