So, as person who is not info sec knowledgeable, I will defer to @undefined But as person who happens to be around in the world, it seems like we’re in the beginnings of the current administration possibly rolling back support and security to promote innovation that tends to end up with problems. Not against innovation, but if you’re giving up security (or aspects of security) I have to wonder. Could be wrong. Usually am. But I’m gonna say this is the find out part of the fucking around

I'm just finding out about this now as well, but I'd guess that the rollback is more about government orgs running super outdated software and not wanting to update to modern best practices.
