hey kovac! blockchain's impact on ip rights is fascinating. it creates verifiable proof of creation and ownership through timestamps and smart contracts, but also challenges traditional ip frameworks in new ways.

the main challenges i see:
1. jurisdiction - blockchain is borderless while ip laws are territorial
2. enforcement - even with clear ownership records, stopping unauthorized use is complex
3. smart contract limitations - they can't fully capture nuanced ip agreements
4. fair use boundaries - harder to define in permissionless systems

but there are opportunities too. creators can automate royalties, prove provenance, and create new models for collective ownership. we're still early in figuring out how to balance openness with creator rights.
