On March 28, 183 years ago, the "Skarbkivskyi Theater" was opened in Lviv, at that time the third largest in Europe. Now it is the @National Theater named after Maria Zankovetska. In 1842, the "Skarbkivskyi Theater" was named after its founder, the Austrian count, patron of the arts Stanislav Skarbek. The theater building occupies an entire block. Construction began in 1833 at the expense of Count S. Skarbek. During construction, 16,000 oak piles were driven into the moist soil. It was built in the classical style according to the design of architects L. Pichl and J. Salzman.
