I think the dichotomy that strikes me most is the volume of difference between twitter and farcaster. On twitter, you have a large following if you have more than 10-20k followers. And a tweet does “well” to get like 50+ likes. Here, you have most of your feed covered with people that have 100-200k+ followers, which is just unfathomable given the size we know CT is. And every cast from them automatically gets like 100 likes right away. Those who have been here longer know 80% of those are just bots, imo we have more of an unfiltered bot on stats problem than any autofollow/reach problem. But people new here will complain its a reach problem because of the magnitude of difference. And people psychologically hate seeing that big of a difference. So if I asked the warpcast team for anything, it would be better bot filtering on all shown stats.

What was the volume /follower concentration like on Twitter in years 1-3? It's not really fair to compare Twitter today vs Farcaster today. That'd be like comparing Nvidia and a Series A stage AI startup.

Thats exactly my point! The follower/reaction numbers on warpcast reflect a giant social network, when we know the size of CT on twitter is magnitudes smaller. Ansem with the reach to engage with iggy and other mainstream influencers has 400k followers and you’re telling me that hundreds of people on warpcast have 200k followers? My point here is that this creates a psychological dichotomy on expected reach which then feels “unfair”. Then they blame whatever they can. In reality its like 10k engaged users here, and if you take that mindset then everything feels more realistic and fair.

The way I read it, the numbers reflect a more vibrant social network v the social media distribution platform X has become. Where are you seeing that hundreds have >200k? I'd guess maybe a dozen. Then another dozen or so with >100k 🤷

Not by my computer to get you a query but a simple sql query on dune shows you at least 80-100 accounts >100k.
