Totally. Lists have been my survival method for using twitter. 
Channels are an improvement in terms of focusing on topics. But lists feel essential as a tool for refining what one prefers to see when opening up the app.  Miss quite a lot of casts by people care about a lot because of the home algorithm making its incorrect assumptions about what want to see.
