This year I built: I endured the hardest year of my life. My political activism began in 2020, and by 2024 it led me to forced emigration. In my own country, I became an "enemy of the people," as they would say in the Soviet Union. Preserving my conscience was natural and not difficult, but holding onto my humanity was much harder. At times, I felt overwhelming hatred toward those who support the regime and work for it. I do not consider myself a political activist because I am not a political actor. I am just an ordinary person who disagrees with a regime that is destroying Ukraine and oppressing its own citizens, robbing us of our future. In my mind, I allowed myself to imagine the death of those responsible, but that is not who I amβ€”that is not my nature. It has been so challenging to carry the memory of NORMALCY and HUMANITY. I believe I managed to do so.
