as in: can moxie protocol be used to create a farcaster-enabled gated group chat? yep, if can. i don't know if the product UX would compare to AF; it's really well made. as for vision, i'll rest on that until tomorrow. alfafrens season 2 launches 1200UTC and brings some thoughtful changes. that might help refocus things.

disagree but only a little: moxie is entirely frame governed, which isn't great UX (time outs, confusing, ephemeral, etc). But moxie is a very different kind of product and wouldn't work as a dedicated app, the way AlfaFrens does. if anything, moxie makes it easier for alfafrens to be successful because moxie makes it easier to be a successful farcaster.

fair... i believe that frame could act as a dedicated app in the near future??? i’m not a dev or any sort…but the trend of technology and the hard work of devs always seem to find a way to make things better. i might be speaking unintelligibly, so please correct me if i'm wrong😅

it'd be tough. frames a simple opengraph tags and intentionally limited (security, easy dev, cheap to make, quick turn around, etc). they aren't suitable, at present, for full on apps. frame images are needfully static, for instance. that being said, YES, devs work better with limitations and find creative ways around hard problems. so MAYBE. just not easy and not soon.
