The Last Supper is a mural painting by the Italian High Renaissance artist Leonardo da Vinci. housed in the refectory of the Convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie in Milan, Italy. The painting represents the scene of the Last Supper of Jesus with the Twelve Apostles, as it is told in the Gospel of John - specifically the moment after Jesus announces that one of his apostles will betray him. Its handling of space, mastery of perspective, treatment of motion and complex display of human emotion has made it one of the Western world's most recognizable paintings and among Leonardo's most celebrated works.

Did you know that people on death row, as a rule, are unable to eat? They feel such distress, anxiety, and anguish that they can't feed themselves.

Jesus knew He would die in a few hours, in a cruel manner (He had warned about it several times before) and also knew who would betray Him, and spoke about it at the Last Supper.

Yet He was able to break the bread and give His final lessons before the cross.
