According to Decrypt, in November 2024, a US court ruled that 21-year-old Berman Jerry Nowlin helped plan a $400000 NFT "RugBull" incident, with charges including telecom fraud and money laundering. According to Nowlin's family, Nowlin has now committed suicide. Berman Jerry Nowlin and 25-year-old Devin Alan Rhoden sold two sets of Solana NFT together in 2022. The first series was "Undead Apes", the second series was "Undead Rady Apes", and the sales of the third series "Undead Tombstone" were suspended. The two of them earned nearly $400000 from it and were subsequently convicted. The report from the US Department of Justice explains that the success of these projects was due to "completely false statements", including collaborations with "well-known companies" and practical commitments to the holders. In addition, the Department of Justice will define the cancelled third series as "RugBull" because the team deleted Discord and Twitter accounts after receiving payment. @dromsjel
