Why Lebanon's missile fire is important in the conflict: The Israeli colonies in Palestine (called settlements) are maintained by the propaganda that Iron Dome is invincible, that is, that it will always protect the settlers. Once this impression is broken, the colonies are gone. No one wants to put their family home where a missile could land one day. Maintaining this impression of security is costly, considering that an interception missile is immensely more expensive than common or improvised missiles.
