Put up numbers, yes, but you’ve also got to put yourself in position, leveling up at each oppty. One can only assume the Heisman would’ve been Jeanty’s if he were competing against Jackson State’s Hunter, Incarnate Word’s Ward, & Central Florida’s Gabriel.

After much debate w/ CFB enthusiasts whether the Heisman went to the right candidate, being “the top player in CFB” isn’t solely measured on stat line, nor strength of schedule alone & I can’t declass the award to just ‘popularity’ as some w/ sour grapes have.
